Feathered and Four-Legged Friends

 

Are you fed up with your lifestyle, stuck in a rut, lack the energy and inclination to get up and go?

This 4 day workshop will show you how to make changes to your lifestyle that if followed, will have long-lasting, positive effects on your general health and well being.

 

The course is composed of:

Daily Yoga sessions (1 1/2 hr)
Yoga is an exercise regime which can be practised by people of all ages and abilities. In these sessions you will learn how to perform the techniques correctly and you will learn the health benefits of each posture. Yoga also develops your ability to relax, deep breathing and relaxation techniques are a focal point of each yoga session. We will also look at using essential oils as an aid to relaxation.

Secrets of Juicing - Health benefits unravelled and digested.
We all know fruit and vegetables provide the key to a healthy diet. A short session every day will give you the opportunity to create and taste an unusual fruit and vegetable concoction. The nutritious components and health benefits of the juice will be discussed. We will also discuss juice recipes which are of benefit to specific health conditions.

Healthy Eating
You need not be a vegetarian to enjoy the wide variety of foodstuffs associated with a vegetarian diet. These pre-lunch 1 hr sessions will show you how to create tasty, nutritious and healthy meals, colourful salads, and homemade bread. When time is an issue - these meals are quick and easy to make and packed with goodness.

Assertiveness Training (daily session)
A program designed to train you how to make your own decisions, communicate in a clear, direct and honest way and react the way you want to when placed in an awkward situation. Assertiveness leaves you with a feeling of self-confidence, self-respect and self-worth. In order to get the most from these fun, interactive sessions we will use role play as a teaching method.

Health Club
A group session at our local health and fitness club where we will use the swimming pool to swim and exercise gently. Swimming is one of the best exercise activiites as swimming utilises all major muscle groups, is a good cardiac exercise and has no weight impact on the joints. We will look at exercising in water as a way of toning muscles and building up muscle strength, if you are a non swimmer we will start you on your way to learning. Following your exercise in the pool you will be able to ease away tension in the jacuzzi and then gently simmer in the steam room.

Course Timetable: Arrival Monday afer 3pm for introduction session at 6pm. Tuesday (10am - 5pm), Wednesday (10am - 3pm), Thursday (10am - 3pm), Friday (10am - 1pm).

Courses run in the months September to April, with a minimum of 3 students, max 6 students on a course.

Course Cost: £375 inclusive of self catering accommodation in one of our cottages from Monday 3pm - Friday 12 pm, unlimited use of powerful 8 seat hot tub, lunch, coffee, tea, juices, group session visit to health club.
Non participating partners / friends / relatives sharing accommodation / room in cottage at £60 additional charge.
Non residential students: £195
